Chris Pratt’s Brother Shares a Funny Moment About His Wardrobe Mishap
Chris Pratt Shares Brother’s Wardrobe Malfunction from Film Set
In a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, actor Chris Pratt humorously recounted a wardrobe mishap involving his brother, Cully Pratt, during the filming of his cameo in the upcoming sci-fi drama, Mercy.
Chris, 46, revealed that Cully’s character meets a dramatic end in the film. “He gets killed,” Chris explained, highlighting Cully’s portrayal of a security personnel wearing a specialized outfit equipped with squibs—small explosive devices that simulate bullet wounds on screen. Chris praised his brother’s performance, noting that Cully has to convincingly play dead for several minutes.
However, things took a turn when Cully faced a costume change for a reshoot, which included pants that were “two sizes too small.” Cully expressed concerns about the fit, telling Chris, “Dude, these pants are, like, so tight, bro.” Despite Chris’s reassurance that everything would be fine, Cully remained apprehensive about performing stunts in the snug attire.
During a critical sequence, Cully’s character executes a stunt that requires him to fall into an elevator. As he descends, the tension culminated in an unfortunate wardrobe failure, where his pants ripped dramatically, leaving him exposed. “As [Cully] goes down, [he] rips his pants from, like, the top of his ass crack to, like, above his pubes,” Chris described, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Chris recounted Cully’s shocked reaction as he realized the situation: “Uhh, my d**’s out.” The incident has drawn attention just ahead of Mercy*’s release, scheduled for January 23, where the narrative explores a detective on trial for the murder of his wife, facing an AI judge in a race against time to prove his innocence.
In an earlier discussion at New York Comic Con, Chris shared details about his preparation for the film’s courtroom scenes, mentioning that he asked to be physically restrained to enhance his portrayal of confinement. He acknowledged that the added realism of being strapped in proved beneficial for his performance.
The anticipated release of Mercy promises to combine tense storytelling with the signature style of the Pratt brothers, even as it highlights the unpredictable nature of film production.
