Charlie Heaton Responds to Harry Styles Comparisons
Actor Charlie Heaton recently addressed comparisons drawn between himself and Harry Styles, stating he finds the similarities amusing. At the season 4 premiere of HBO’s Industry on January 8, Heaton, who is 31 years old like Styles, noted, "We’re both from the north of England, we’re about the same age."
When asked about the fans who compare his appearance to the pop star, Heaton acknowledged, "I don’t know. There [are] some similarities. Yeah, I get it. I’ve never met him, but maybe one day I’ll get to say hi to him."
In the new season of Industry, Heaton takes on the role of finance journalist Jim Dycker, which marks a significant departure from his previous character, Jonathan Byers, on Stranger Things. After completing the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Heaton expressed his excitement for a role that reflects a "British" context.
"It’s just so different from what I’ve done before, and I think that’s what attracted me," he said. "I was scared to do it. I didn’t think I could do it, so it was cool to dive into it. I came into an established cast, and that’s the opposite of what I’m used to. But everyone was really nice, really welcoming."

Previously, Heaton had addressed the comparisons to Styles in 2022 during an interview with Hits Radio, where he was asked if he would be interested in a "Parent Trap" scenario with the singer. "A day in the life of Harry Styles, sure, why not, yeah. Could you make it happen?" he responded.
Reflecting on his tenure with Stranger Things, which culminated in a series finale on December 31, Heaton remarked that his last day on set would "forever live in my memory." He described the experience as a moment of "real honesty," emphasizing the strong relationships developed during filming. "I love the people I’m working with, and I’m sad to say goodbye to you. It was a really special experience," he added.
Looking ahead, Heaton expressed a desire for a "little break" in 2026 after an eventful year. New episodes of Industry air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
