Chappell Roan’s Makeup Artist Shares a Surprising Trick for Her Fake Nipple Piercings at the 2026 Grammys
Chappell Roan’s Bold Look at the 2026 Grammys
Singer Chappell Roan made headlines at the 2026 Grammys with a striking topless look, expertly crafted by her makeup artist Sasha Glasser. Glasser explained to Allure that the design aimed for a balance between boldness and subtlety, saying, "The idea was for her to not be so naked."
Roan donned a sheer, hooded burgundy design by Mugler, enhancing the outfit with innovative faux nipple piercings. Glasser revealed that she utilized unique prosthetics from Out of Kit, which feature a sticky backing similar to that of a Band-Aid, eliminating the need for additional adhesive.
To ensure stability, Glasser employed Telesis glue, a medical-grade adhesive, while reinforcing the prosthetics with power mesh for added security. "I cut a dime-size piece, glued it to the back of the prosthetic, and then we stuck the earring through both the prosthetic and the mesh,” she explained.
The prosthetics required a perfect match to Roan’s skin tone, leading Glasser and her team to paint them directly on the singer’s body. To keep the jewelry pristine until showtime, they wrapped it in bubblegum wrappers, removing them just before Roan slipped into her dramatic sheer dress.

Prior to the Grammys, Roan unveiled a dramatic hair transformation, switching her auburn locks for a deep brunette shade. This new look was showcased during her appearance in a November livestream celebrating the 2026 Grammy nominees, where Roan coupled her new hairstyle with a sleeveless graphic top and an array of colorful makeup.
Roan’s hairstyle remained consistent at her concert performances in New York City in September, representing her evolving aesthetic as she continues to make waves in the music industry.
