Changes Ahead for Below Deck Down Under as Another Cast Member May Leave After Mike Durrant’s Exit
Drama Unfolds in Below Deck Down Under as Mike Durrant Exits
In a significant shakeup for the cast of Below Deck Down Under, Mike Durrant has departed from the popular Bravo series. This development raises further questions about the dynamics of the cast moving forward.
In a sneak peek of the upcoming episode set to air on May 18, Captain Jason Chambers expresses his frustration over a love triangle involving Jenna Woudberg, Ben Robinson, and Eddy Hounsell. The situation escalates on board the Katina, prompting Captain Jason to intervene in an effort to restore order. “I have a second stew that created a s***storm,” he tells fellow crew member Daisy Kelliher. “Something has got to change.”
The fate of Jenna remains uncertain as she prepares to meet with Jason for a discussion about her future on the show. Her potential exit follows Mike’s dismissal due to inadequate contributions in the interior, paving the way for Barbie Pascual’s return to the franchise.
Reflecting on his exit, Mike shared with Us Weekly, “It was a long time coming and a lot of my behavior was unacceptable. I feel like this was probably just the icing on the cake.” He explained that his actions, including backchatting Daisy, who is a superior, were never intended to be disrespectful. “I was out of luck. For me, I was actually more disappointed. I hadn’t just let myself down, I had also let everyone else down.”
Mike emphasized that he recognized the severity of the situation, admitting, “I was just having fun and I didn’t mean any harm by it.” However, he acknowledged the impact of his behavior on the crew, admitting that they were “a man down when they obviously had to put in extra effort.”
The former deckhand further defended his comments regarding Alesia Harris, asserting he had not done anything wrong. He clarified, “I had obviously seen a lot of comments about me having issues with the women onboard,” adding that his concerns about working in the interior were not gender-based, but rather tied to the nature of the work itself.
Below Deck Down Under airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
