There’s an extraordinary blend of competition and camaraderie unfolding on American Idol. Contestants not only vie for stardom but also support from past winners.
On Monday, April 13, Hannah Harper, a top 11 contestant from season 24, revealed on Facebook that she received a heartfelt gift from season four winner and current judge Carrie Underwood.
“Didn’t think my first piece of Tiffany & Co. jewelry would come from Carrie Underwood,” Harper posted alongside a photo of the gift. “But truly, the part that got me the most was the handwritten note. That meant more than anything.”

Alongside the jewelry, Underwood included a note commending Harper’s talent and expressing her joy at Harper’s achievements in the competition.
“From the first time I laid eyes on you — and heard your story [and] your voice, I knew you were special,” Underwood wrote, referring to Harper as “an inspiration” for women and mothers everywhere. Harper has been open about her struggles with postpartum depression and the challenges of motherhood. “I [cannot] wait to see what God has in store for you [and] I am so blessed to have a front row seat.”
In her post, Harper described Underwood as a “good kind human,” adding, “Y’all, she’s as down-to-earth and genuine as they come.”
Fellow Top 11 contestant Keyla Richardson also expressed her gratitude on Instagram on Tuesday, April 14, showcasing her own Tiffany & Co. gift from Underwood and a handwritten note.
“Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express,” Richardson noted, thanking Underwood for her thoughtful gesture. “The fact that you took the time to bless someone like that speaks to the incredible woman and class act that you are.”
Underwood, who won American Idol in 2005, continues to serve as a judge in the current 24th season, marking her second consecutive year in this role. Since her victory, she has achieved 43 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and 10 on the Billboard 200.
