California Drivers Could Soon Enjoy Disneyland-Themed License Plates
Disneyland-Themed License Plates Proposed to Fund Children’s Hospitals in California
California drivers may soon have the option to purchase Disneyland-themed license plates, aimed at supporting children’s hospitals across the state. This initiative was announced by the California State Treasurer’s Office on Tuesday.
The specialized license plates are intended to generate funds for uncompensated healthcare services and programs at children’s hospitals. Before the plates can be produced, the Treasurer’s Office must submit a formal application, approve a design, and secure preorders of at least 7,500 plates.
Funds raised from these plates will be distributed to 13 children’s hospitals statewide, including eight facilities located in Southern California. The hospitals that stand to benefit from this initiative are:
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
- Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
- Rady Children’s Health Orange County
- Rady Children’s Health San Diego
- UC Davis Children’s Hospital
- UC Irvine Health Children’s Hospital
- UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital
- UC San Diego Health Children’s Hospital
The cost for the Disneyland-themed plates is set at $50 for sequential plates and $103 for personalized options. Additionally, the annual renewal fees will be $40 and $83, respectively, along with standard registration fees.
This proposal marks a significant effort to support children’s healthcare in California, paving the way for potentially greater funding and resources for these vital services. Further details about the initiative and a complete list of benefiting hospitals can be found in the recent announcement by the Treasurer’s Office.
