Caleb Williams and Bears Teammates Have Fun with Cheese Grater Hats After Big Playoff Victory
The Chicago Bears made headlines with a stunning 31-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the NFL playoff’s first round, held at Soldier Field on January 10. This marked a historic comeback, with quarterback Caleb Williams, wide receiver DJ Moore, and tight end Colston Loveland joining the Amazon Prime postgame crew in a lively celebration that included cheese grater hats, a playful jab at their rivals known as “cheese heads.”
The Bears demonstrated remarkable resilience, overcoming a 21-3 halftime deficit by scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter. Williams connected with Moore on a touchdown pass to seal the win late in the game. “We understand that it’s 60 minutes of football,” Williams commented postgame. “We understand and know who we are and what this means for the city. So we keep going and keep fighting.” He further emphasized the mental aspect of the game, stating, “Play with the frustration, the anger, all of that. Use that to our advantage.”

This victory is particularly significant, marking the Bears’ first playoff win against the Packers since December 14, 1941, and their first overall playoff win since the 2010-11 season, when the Packers ended their journey in the NFC Championship. After the game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson and Packers coach Matt LeFleur exchanged a brief handshake that garnered attention on social media.
In the locker room, Johnson delivered an expletive-laden speech, energizing his team after the hard-fought win. “Hell yeah! F*** the Packers, man! F*** them!” Johnson exclaimed, further motivating his players by acknowledging their resilience. “You go into the tournament coming off the two losses, you look up at halftime in this game and it’s 21-3. No f***ing panic. Built for pressure. That’s you guys!” he said.
Williams became emotional, expressing gratitude to Johnson and the coaching staff for their unwavering support. “I said last night, you make your money in the regular season, and in the postseason your legacy and your name,” he reflected. “And so, that’s us. … I want to keep this s*** better. We have to f***ing get better.” He added, “Look at this guy right here (Johnson). Everything he’s done for us as a coach, everything the other coaches have done for us, and it started with him. … For me personally, he’s been monumental in my life so far. And so, to his first playoff win as the Chicago Bears head coach.”
As the Bears look forward to their next playoff matchup, their opponent remains undecided, contingent on Sunday’s results. Should the Philadelphia Eagles triumph over the San Francisco 49ers, the Bears will host the defending Super Bowl champions. If the 49ers prevail, the Bears will welcome the Los Angeles Rams, who secured their place by defeating the Carolina Panthers in their playoff contest.
