Burglary Report Leads to Arson Investigation at Van Nuys Office Building
Fire Erupts at Van Nuys Office Building, Arson Investigation Underway
LOS ANGELES – An early morning incident in Van Nuys transformed from a burglary alarm call into a significant arson investigation. Authorities reported that firefighters responded to a fire at an office building on Sylvan Street around 4:30 a.m., in close proximity to the local police station and courthouse.
Los Angeles police officers, who were passing by the scene, noticed flames emanating from the building, which houses several law firms. Upon seeing the fire, officers quickly escalated the situation and contacted the fire department.
When firefighters arrived and entered the building, they discovered what appeared to be an incendiary device, prompting the involvement of arson investigators to determine the fire’s cause.
Currently, Sylvan Street remains closed from Van Nuys Boulevard as the investigation continues.
Security footage from the scene is now under review, revealing a suspect dressed in a hoodie who was observed near the entrance moments before the fire ignited. The suspect appeared to be “messing with something,” according to sources.
As the investigation unfolds, arson investigators are meticulously examining all available evidence, including the surveillance footage, to piece together the events that led to this incident and to identify the individual responsible.
