Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams has achieved a significant milestone, joining YouTube Music’s Billion Views Club with his hit “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.”
The iconic performance video for this 1991 ballad, which played a key role in the soundtrack of Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, has now surpassed one billion views.
Upon its release, “I Do It For You” became an immense hit, paralleling the success of the film it accompanied. The song is one of Adams’ four tracks that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it held the top position for seven weeks—his longest reign on the national singles chart.

In the U.K., “I Do It For You” had a historic run on the Official Singles Chart, securing a remarkable 16-week consecutive reign, the longest in the chart’s history.
The track was featured on Adams’s album Waking Up the Neighbours, which topped multiple charts, including the Official U.K. Albums Chart and the ARIA Chart, and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
The film that featured “I Do It For You” was a box office triumph, ranking No. 2 among the highest-grossing films of its release year with $390 million, trailing only the blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which earned $520 million, while surpassing the critically acclaimed Robin Hood.
Adams first entered YouTube’s Billion Views Club with another ballad, “Please Forgive Me,” released in 1993.
“(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” was co-written by Adams, Robert “Mutt” Lange, and Michael Kamen. The official black-and-white video was filmed in Miami, Florida, in 1992, directed by Andy Morahan.
