Bruce Springsteen Shares Heartfelt Reaction from His Sister After Viewing His Biopic
Bruce Springsteen recently revealed the touching response from his sister Virginia after she viewed his biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere for the first time. Springsteen, the iconic musician, has two younger sisters: Virginia, portrayed as a child in the film by Arabella Olivia Clark, and Pamela, a professional photographer.
In a preview of a behind-the-scenes featurette released ahead of the film’s digital launch on December 23, the 76-year-old Springsteen reflected on the screening experience with Virginia. "My sister, who’s a year younger than me, she held my hand during the whole screening," he recalled. Virginia’s immediate reaction after the credits rolled was, "Isn’t it wonderful we have this representation of our family and our family life and our family struggles on film?"
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the development of his 1982 album Nebraska, drawing on Springsteen’s challenging childhood in New Jersey. The film stars Jeremy Allen White as a young Springsteen. The digital release will feature a special behind-the-scenes documentary with insights from the cast and crew, including commentary from Springsteen himself.
The singer previously shared Virginia’s comments during a Q&A session at the Telluride Film Festival on August 31, where he recounted that as they watched the film, she squeezed his hand tightly, expressing her gratitude for the family’s depiction on screen.
In addition to White, who recently received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, the film includes performances from actors such as Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, David Krumholtz, Grace Gummer, and Marc Maron.
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere will be available for digital purchase beginning December 23 and on Blu-Ray starting January 20.
