Briarcliff Announces Nationwide Release of ‘Christmas At The Kringles’
Briarcliff Entertainment Secures Domestic Distribution for ‘Christmas at the Kringles’
Briarcliff Entertainment CEO Tom Ortenberg has acquired the domestic distribution rights to Christmas at the Kringles, a holiday comedy currently in production in Los Angeles. The film is slated for a wide theatrical release in November.
Directed by Kevin Lewis, known for Willy’s Wonderland, Christmas at the Kringles merges elements of comedy, action, and horror within a festive narrative. The film stars Ron Livingston, recognized for his role in Band of Brothers, alongside Rachel Bilson, famed for her performance in The O.C. The ensemble cast also features Rob Riggle, Arden Myrin, Beverly D’Angelo, Thomas Lennon, and Donald Faison.
The story, penned by Zack Imbrogno, follows the Severson family as they start anew in a seemingly tranquil suburban neighborhood. Their neighbors, the Kringles, initially appear to be amicable, albeit with an unusual habit of celebrating Christmas year-round. However, the family’s charm takes a darker turn as Mark and Julie become increasingly concerned about their son’s intense bond with the Kringles. A confrontation leads Mark to discover the Kringles’ alarming intentions: to hypnotize and indoctrinate the Seversons.
Produced by Andrew Ortenberg of 19th Hole Productions alongside Tom Ortenberg, Liam Finn, Kevin Lewis, and Jordan Dykstra, the film’s international sales rights will be represented by Dykstra’s new company, Ignite, at the Cannes market. Executive producers include Stacy Kemp, Scott Harbert, Meritt Harbert, and Kevin Weisberg.
Lewis expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I had been looking to do another zany and bonkers genre film in the vein of Willy’s Wonderland, and I found it in Zack Imbrogno’s unique and original screenplay. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such a talented cast and crew to bring this crazy train of a movie to life.”
