Blake Lively Stuns on the Met Gala Red Carpet Following Justin Baldoni’s Settlement in ‘It Ends With Us’ Lawsuit
Blake Lively made a striking appearance at the Met Gala on Monday evening, shortly after Justin Baldoni resolved the lawsuit she filed against him, his company, and his public relations firm. The actress’s attendance comes as a notable moment following the legal developments surrounding her role in the film It Ends With Us.
Lively dazzled in a pastel gown adorned with hues of peach, purple, and yellow, featuring a jeweled bodice and an elegant flowing train. Her attire drew comparisons to her previous appearance at the 2022 Met Gala, where she wore a gown inspired by the Statue of Liberty. This year’s gala theme is “Costume Art,” with a dress code highlighting the concept “Fashion Is Art.”
The timing of Lively’s appearance aligns with the recent release of Another Simple Favor (2025), the sequel to the 2019 film A Simple Favor, which she starred in alongside Anna Kendrick. Notably, Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez, who are the honorary co-chairs and lead financial supporters of the gala, attended the event.
In a joint statement, the legal representatives for Baldoni and Lively expressed their pride in the film, stating, “The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.” This statement marked the conclusion of their ongoing dispute, which began at the end of 2024.

The attorneys, including Bryan Freedman, Ellyn Garofalo, Michael Gottlieb, and Esra Hudson, acknowledged the challenges faced during the process and emphasized the importance of addressing Ms. Lively’s concerns. They stated, “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
The settlement announcement arrived just two weeks before the case was scheduled to proceed to court, where both parties were set to face a jury in Manhattan.
While Lively shone at the gala, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, was not in attendance. However, his Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) co-star, Hugh Jackman, was present with Sutton Foster.
