Billy Joel Celebrates Daughter’s Milestone Birthday
Billy Joel took to social media to commemorate the 40th birthday of his eldest daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, on December 29. The singer shared heartfelt photos of the two embracing, captioning the post, "Happy Birthday Alexa Ray Joel!" In the images, Joel, 76, sported a black shirt and olive green baseball cap, while Alexa wore a floral sundress.
Alexa Ray Joel’s sister, Sailor Brinkley Cook, also celebrated the occasion, posting a lively video of herself dancing in their home, with the caption “Birthday girl” accompanied by a red heart emoji.

In her own tribute, Alexa Ray shared a video of herself dancing alongside her mother, Christie Brinkley, to the holiday classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)." She captioned this post, "Birthday Dancing with the Mamacita," showcasing joyous family moments.
Alexa Ray has spoken previously about her parents’ relationship, particularly during discussions surrounding the release of the two-part HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes this past August. She described watching the documentary as "moving, beyond belief," noting the emotional impact it had on her.
"There were people messaging me saying that they were in tears. So let alone, for me, reliving my childhood years," she remarked at the time. She reflected on how the world perceived her parents as "the ultimate dream couple."
She further elaborated on the contrasts in her parents’ personalities, saying, "Opposites attract. My mom being this beautiful model, and extrovert… my dad is definitely more of an introvert."

Alexa noted the emotional nature of reliving her family’s history through the documentary, expressing that both she and her mother found it poignant. Today, following in her father’s musical footsteps, Alexa Ray Joel continues to pursue her artistry, having recently released her single "Heavy Eyes" in November.
