Bella Thorne Shares Her Thoughts on Starting a Family with Fiancé Mark Emms

Bella Thorne Discusses Future Family Plans
Bella Thorne recently shared her insights on expanding her family during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala. Currently engaged to Mark Emms, Thorne reflected on her aspirations for parenthood.
"I just directed a movie that I wrote," Thorne revealed. "So, I think I think that’s my baby currently and I’m in editing."
Thorne and Emms first met on a beach in Ibiza in August 2022 during a birthday celebration for Cara Delevingne. "It was love at first sight as the sun rose," Thorne shared with Vogue in May 2023.
The couple’s relationship became public in September 2022 when images surfaced of them together on a yacht in Mykonos, Greece. A source close to them remarked at the time, "It’s new, and they’re having fun. They’ve been dating for about a month."
Thorne confirmed their romance on social media on Valentine’s Day in 2023, posting a playful photo of the couple sharing a candy necklace in a nod to the classic Lady and the Tramp scene. "Find someone u want to share ur candy with 😍," she captioned the post, playfully asserting, "this sexy tall British man is mine so get yah own cuz I feel like kickin Ass today."
Nine months later, they became engaged, and since then, they have been planning their wedding. Thorne expressed to PEOPLE that the engagement has deepened their bond. "It’s really like, ‘Oh wow, we’re really, you’re my partner. Let’s do this together,’" she stated. "So that kind of becomes more real every day, and kind of solidifies our partnership more and more every day."

Thorne remarked that while they are "definitely very much past" the honeymoon phase, they continue to learn from each other and grow closer.
In May 2023, Emms proposed to Thorne, and in August 2025, she returned the favor by proposing to him in a romantic setting filled with candles and flowers. A video of this moment was shared on her Instagram account, where Thorne expressed, "3 years ago we met, 1 year later he proposed, Now 1 year later so did I 🥴❤️."
Reflecting on mixed reactions to her proposal, Thorne humorously noted, "The comments on my post are hilarious!! Totally split down the middle. Half of u are like let’s not normalize proposing to your partner — other half is like f— yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!"
