Bell Media Partners with Jae & Trey Richards’ Random Order Studios While Sky Secures Deal for ‘The Office Movers’
Bell Media Forms Partnership with ‘The Office Movers’ Stars
Bell Media has announced a significant first-look and co-development agreement with Jermaine “Jae” Richards, Trevaunn “Trey” Richards, and executive producer Julian Lloyd of Random Order Studios, the production team behind the Crave comedy series The Office Movers. This move coincides with the sale of the series to Sky in the UK.
The collaboration aims to foster "globally-minded, culture-driven storytelling." Bell Media’s distribution arm, Sphere Abacus, will have the opportunity to manage international rights.
The Office Movers draws inspiration from the personal experiences of the Richards brothers, who worked for their father’s moving company. Currently, Sphere Abacus is already marketing the show, which is produced by Counterfeit Pictures. Seasons 1-3 have been successfully sold to Sky, which also recently acquired Bell’s prominent show Heated Rivalry.
This partnership follows similar agreements Bell Media has formed with various production companies, including Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate.
As prominent figures in the comedy scene, the Toronto-based Richards brothers have garnered millions of views across their YouTube channels. They maintain close relationships with celebrities like Kevin Hart and Drake, the latter having both appeared in The Office Movers and used one of their sketches for his song “Mabida Riddim.” Additionally, the duo hosts Random Order, a podcast that provides their comedic take on pop culture.
Random Order Studios is also working on another Crave series, Judge Tyco, set in a courtroom where local figure Tyco adjudicates trivial cases brought by teenagers.
The studio has a diverse slate of scripted and unscripted series in development, focusing on cultural narratives in collaboration with global brands, aiming to connect the realms of internet culture, sports, and television.
Justin Stockman, Vice President of Content Development & Programming at Bell Media, remarked, “Random Order Studios brings a bold, distinctive voice and sharp comedic sensibility to Bell Media’s world-class content portfolio. Our collaboration with Jermaine and Trevaunn underscores our commitment to expanding our digital and premium content footprint – delivering authentic, globally resonant storytelling that connects with audiences everywhere.”
Jermaine Richards remarked that the partnership allows them to remain true to their community roots while reaching broader audiences. “This partnership is a continuation of that, just at a different level,” he stated.
Trevaunn Richards emphasized their understanding of audience connection. “Now it’s about taking that same instinct and applying it to bigger ideas, bigger formats, and a global stage,” he said.
Lloyd described the deal as both a milestone and a momentum-building moment for the company, highlighting that their foundation in community-driven content paves the way for scalable long-form projects. "We’re still community-first — now we’re building at scale,” he added.
The Richards brothers are represented by Odd Projects and Hansen, Jacobson Teller.
