Banana Bowl Baseball Championship Coming Soon to Disney+ in the U.S.
Disney has officially acquired the Banana Bowl, marking a new chapter for the burgeoning Banana Ball League.
Starting this fall, Disney+ will serve as the U.S. home for the Banana Ball League’s season championship, which is set to stream in October. The announcement was made during Disney’s upfront presentation on Tuesday.
The upcoming Banana Bowl is expected to feature one of the league’s most significant performances to date, uniting all six Banana Ball teams and showcasing the league’s signature on-field showmanship from the first pitch to the final out.
This development aligns with an expanded partnership with the Savannah Bananas, a Georgia-based exhibition baseball team. In a related announcement, ABC revealed that Jackson Olson, the team’s second baseman, will compete in Season 35 of *Dancing with the Stars*.
Previously, Disney hosted a Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Additionally, Banana Ball will make its way to Florida’s Walt Disney World at the end of May for a game at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex, featuring the Party Animals against the Loco Beach Coconuts.
Watch on Deadline
In July, Banana Ball will stop near ESPN Headquarters, hosting a marquee summer event at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, Connecticut, featuring the Party Animals and the Indianapolis Clowns. For those unable to attend in person, ESPN, Disney+, and the Savannah Bananas are offering a 25-game exclusive streaming package. Every game will be available live on the ESPN App and Disney+, with select matchups also airing on ESPN networks and ABC.
