Bad Bunny Becomes the Most-Streamed Artist Worldwide on Spotify
Bad Bunny Tops Spotify’s 2025 Global Charts, Displacing Taylor Swift
In a notable shift in streaming trends, Bad Bunny has been named Spotify’s top-streamed artist of the year, officially ending Taylor Swift’s reign on the platform. The announcement came on Wednesday during Spotify’s annual Wrapped Day, which showcases global listening data from January to early December.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican reggaeton star, has topped Spotify’s year-end list. The artist, who will be featured in the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, amassed an impressive 19.8 billion streams in 2025.
In addition to his streaming success, Bad Bunny’s recent album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” earned the title of the global top album, with its title track ranking fifth among the most-streamed songs of the year. His previous album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” released in 2022, ranked tenth on this year’s global albums list and was recognized as the most-streamed album of 2023.
Bad Bunny has previously held the title of Spotify’s global top artist in 2020, 2021, and 2022. He finished second behind Swift in 2023 and dropped to third in 2024, trailing Swift and The Weeknd.
Completing the global top five artists for 2025 were Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish. Notably, the San Bernardino regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida made its first appearance in the top 10, securing the tenth position.
Listening patterns in the United States revealed a different narrative, with Bad Bunny ranking as the fifth most-streamed artist. Swift emerged as the top-streamed artist in the country, followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar.
The top song in the U.S. was “Luther,” a collaboration between Lamar and SZA. Other top contenders included Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile,” Alex Warren’s hit “Ordinary,” Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” and Lamar’s “TV Off.” The Marías’ track “No One Noticed” secured the tenth spot on the U.S. most-streamed songs list.
In terms of albums, Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” claimed the top position in the U.S. while his 2023 release, “One Thing at a Time,” came in ninth. SZA’s “SOS Deluxe: Lana” ranked second, with Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” in third, followed by “KPOP Demon Hunters” in fourth and Lamar’s “GNX” in fifth. Swift’s new release, “The Life of a Showgirl,” rounded out the U.S. albums list at eighth place.
