Empire of the Sun Announces Exciting New Chrysalis Destination Festival
Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun, famous for their hit “Walking On a Dream,” has announced their inaugural destination festival, titled Chrysalis. Scheduled to take place from May 14 to May 16, 2026, the band-curated event will unfold in San José del Cabo, Mexico.
In partnership with 100x Hospitality, Chrysalis aims to provide an immersive musical experience, featuring thematic elements, art installations, open-air stages, and various hidden activities. Empire of the Sun will headline each of the three nights, with additional details about supporting international artists to be revealed later.
“Chrysalis is about imagination and rebirth. This festival is designed to be spirit immersive — where people leave transformed,” stated frontman Luke Steele. He elaborated on the festival’s symbolic theme, which includes motifs like the door, the egg, the key, wings, and the bell. “It’s about creating a journey through music, art, and spirit. In a world that is overflowing with distortion, it’s time to let yourself be carried away.”
Tickets for Chrysalis are currently available, offering various packages that include weekend passes, all-inclusive resort stays, and onsite glamping options.
Empire of the Sun recently completed their visually striking “Ask That God Tour,” which supported their 2024 album of the same name.
