Aubrey O’Day Shares Her Thoughts on the Challenging Weeks Following the Diddy Documentary and Her Hospital Stay
Aubrey O’Day has faced significant challenges in recent weeks, highlighted by her emotional participation in Netflix’s documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which premiered on December 2. The film delves into allegations of sexual misconduct against Sean “Diddy” Combs, and O’Day shares her own experiences as part of the narrative.
On December 11, the singer took to her Instagram Story to reflect on her tumultuous period. Shortly after missing a reunion show with her group, Danity Kane, due to illness, O’Day expressed her feelings of overwhelm. “What an intense, overwhelming two weeks this has been for me — with the Netflix drop, the world now knowing things that were hard for me to say,” she wrote.
She continued, addressing the myriad challenges she has faced beyond the documentary. “Plus all the things happening behind the scenes in every area of business rn,” she added. “It’s been a very heavy time.”
O’Day also shared a moment from a recent performance where she was carried on stage by two dancers, describing it as the first time she felt she had “fully released” amidst the chaos.
The documentary, produced by 50 Cent, includes various allegations against Combs, including claims from O’Day that he terminated her from Danity Kane—a group he had a hand in creating on Making the Band 3—after she declined his sexual advances. This revelation comes after Combs received a prison sentence of four years for violating federal prostitution laws in October.
O’Day’s recent update followed her withdrawal from a concert in Los Angeles due to an undisclosed illness. She wrote on her Story, “I’ve become extremely sick and physically can’t make tonight’s show.” She expressed her frustrations about being unable to control her health at the moment.
In her absence, bandmates Aundrea Fimbres and D. Woods performed without her. They are currently on their Untold Chapter Tour, which includes upcoming shows in Connecticut, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and other cities through late December.
