Asteria Introduces Continuum Suite: An AI-Driven Operating System for Film and TV Production, with Pressman Film as a First Client
AI firm Asteria has announced the launch of what it calls a new operating system for film and television production, named Continuum Suite.
Continuum Suite emerges from Asteria’s newly established research and technology division. Co-founded by filmmaker Bryn Mooser and actor-director Natasha Lyonne, Asteria has gained recognition for supporting “clean” or “ethical” AI models, such as Marey, which avoid copyright issues by not relying on proprietary intellectual property. The company has garnered backing from notable names, including CAA and Comcast Ventures.
While ongoing discussions among studios and streaming platforms regarding the effects of AI on copyright, deepfakes, and workforce dynamics remain prevalent, Continuum Suite aims to enhance efficiencies within below-the-line production. The system is designed to streamline workflows, guiding scripts from initial drafts to completed projects.

Built on Amazon Web Services, this cloud-native operating system has already attracted prestigious clients, including Pressman Film, a production company with a diverse portfolio that features over 100 titles, such as *American Psycho* and *The Crow*.
Unlike popular text-to-video generative tools like OpenAI’s Sora, Continuum Suite focuses on organizing and coordinating various aspects of filmmaking. Its functionalities encompass creative development, production coordination, and animated workflows, leveraging AI tools to accelerate production timelines.
Paul Trillo, filmmaker and Asteria co-founder, described the operating system as “a centralized place where all departments can stay on the same page as updates are made.” He noted that the concept arose from encountering inefficiencies and miscommunication during productions, with a goal of making the pre-production process more collaborative and less burdensome.
At the heart of Continuum Suite is Atlas, Asteria’s persistent intelligence system, which integrates information, context, and decision-making throughout every filmmaking stage. Atlas continuously updates data to reflect logistical changes, script revisions, and other factors.
In its announcement, Asteria described Continuum Suite as “a relational database and knowledge graph that grows stronger as your production progresses.”
After a script is uploaded, the system conducts an analysis of characters, scenes, and locations, noting necessary props and costumes. It generates call sheets, schedules, storyboards, and animatics while creating a comprehensive database for the production.
