Ashley Padilla Takes on the Iconic Rain Scene from ‘The Notebook’ with Ryan Gosling in New ‘SNL’ Promo
Ryan Gosling will host Saturday Night Live this weekend as part of the promotional efforts for his upcoming film, Project Hail Mary. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film is set for release on March 20. A new promotional clip for the show, however, features SNL cast member Ashley Padilla, who surprisingly has another film in mind.
In the promo, Padilla expresses her enthusiasm for Project Hail Mary.
When Gosling prompts her to elaborate on her favorite parts, she quips, “The space stuff, and the part where I took out my phone and watched a scene from The Notebook. You know, that one in the rain?”
Gosling responds, “That’s what I was afraid of. You know, that was a long time ago. It’s over.”
His comment sparks a nostalgic reaction from Padilla, who then launches into the iconic “It still isn’t over” scene from the classic film.
This week’s episode will also mark the SNL debut of the British animated band Gorillaz, created by Blur’s Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The group recently released their latest album, The Mountain, on February 27.
