Arian Moayed from Succession Teams Up with Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain in New Apple TV Series The Off Weeks
Arian Moayed Joins Apple’s Limited Series ‘The Off Weeks’
Arian Moayed, known for his roles in Fountain of Youth and Succession, has been cast in Apple’s upcoming limited series The Off Weeks. This eight-episode project will star and be executive produced by Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller.
The series, developed by executive producer and showrunner Alissa Nutting, centers on Gus Adler (played by Stiller), a writing professor navigating personal turmoil following his divorce. He grapples with the demands of fatherhood during his “on weeks” with his children, while simultaneously falling dangerously in love with Stella West (Chastain), a woman whose entrance complicates his carefully balanced life.
Moayed will portray Angelo, the boss of Gus, adding depth to the narrative.
The Off Weeks marks a reunion between Chastain and Moayed, who previously starred together in the Broadway production of A Doll’s House, which debuted in 2023 at the Hudson Theatre.
Produced by Apple Studios and the global independent studio wiip, the series assembles a notable production team. In addition to Nutting and Stiller, John Lesher, Kelly Carmichael, and a consortium of executive producers contribute to the project, ensuring a robust creative foundation.
Currently, Moayed is also featured in the second season of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This. His recent projects include Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie, alongside Natalie Portman and John Krasinski, and House of Spoils for Blumhouse, starring opposite Ariana DeBose.
Best recognized for his role as Stewy Hosseini in HBO’s acclaimed series Succession, Moayed has received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in both 2022 and 2023. His diverse television credits also encompass Inventing Anna, Love Life, and Ms. Marvel, with an upcoming appearance in Marvel’s Wonder Man.
Moayed’s filmography is extensive, featuring works such as A24’s You Hurt My Feelings, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Courtroom, the latter of which he wrote and premiered at the Tribeca Festival.
He is represented by Kipperman Management, UTA, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams.
