Apple Renews ‘Shrinking’ for Season 4 Before Season 3 Premieres
Apple TV has officially announced the renewal of Shrinking for a fourth season, just one day before the highly anticipated launch of its third season, which will premiere with a special hour-long episode.
The popular comedy features an ensemble cast led by Emmy nominees Jason Segel and Harrison Ford. Other core cast members include Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. Season 3 will consist of 11 episodes, releasing weekly every Wednesday until April 8.
This latest season follows the journey of Jimmy, portrayed by Segel, a therapist grappling with grief. The narrative will explore themes of progress and healing not only for Jimmy but also for his colleagues, Paul Rhoades (Ford) and Gaby (Williams), as well as their wider circle of friends and patients.
Season 3 will also feature guest appearances from familiar faces such as Brett Goldstein, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, and Cobie Smulders. Notably, newcomers Jeff Daniels and activist Michael J. Fox, along with Candice Bergen, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez, are set to join the cast.
Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Shrinking is the result of a collaboration between creator Bill Lawrence, Segel, and Goldstein, among others, who serve as executive producers. This marks the third partnership for Apple, Lawrence, and Warner Bros., following their success with the award-winning series Ted Lasso and the upcoming comedy Bad Monkey.
In addition to Shrinking, Lawrence is also set to premiere a reboot of the medical series Scrubs at the end of February, along with another project titled Rooster, starring Steve Carell and Charly Clive, which is expected to debut in March.
