Michael Archer II is honoring his late mother, Angie Stone, on what would have been her 64th birthday. The tribute comes less than a year after her unexpected death in a car crash last March.
Known professionally as Swayvo Twain, Archer shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by various photos celebrating Stone’s life and legacy. In his post, he expressed deep love and longing for his mother.
“Happy birthday mama….. I love you so much …. I miss you so much … every single day ….. too many feelings to write em all out, but I just wanna thank you for being who you are …. Love ya mama ❤️🥹,” he wrote, reflecting on their special bond.
Archer included memorable images, such as Stone performing on stage, a cherished photo of himself as a child sitting on her lap, and clips from her birthday celebrations, illustrating their close relationship.
Following Stone’s death on March 1, Archer and his sister, Diamond Stone, publicly shared their grief on social media. In a heartfelt message, they requested privacy while also celebrating their mother’s impactful legacy.
“Angie was an example for Black women and girls everywhere. She is a pioneer of rap music that began with the female trio ‘The Sequence.’ Angie Stone believed in giving back to her fans and the community with her foundation ‘Angel Stripes,'” they stated.
They concluded, “Even though Angie is no longer with us physically, her family wants you to keep her legacy alive.”
In a particularly challenging year, Michael Archer II also faced the loss of his father, singer D’Angelo, who passed away on October 14 at the age of 51 after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.

The family’s statement following D’Angelo’s death expressed their sorrow while cherishing his musical contributions: “We are saddened that he can only leave dear memories with his family, but we are eternally grateful for the legacy of extraordinarily moving music he leaves behind.”
In a separate statement, Archer conveyed his emotions regarding the challenging year ahead: “I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents taught me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that.”
