Amy Sedaris Shares Simple Holiday Tips with Frozen Pizza, Dunkin’ Gift Cards, and a Delicious Cake
Amy Sedaris Prepares for an Abundant 2026
Greenwich Village — Comedienne Amy Sedaris is gearing up for a bright and eventful year in 2026. In a light-hearted conversation from her home, Sedaris shared insights into her holiday traditions and practical tips for navigating the season, while also revealing her shared zodiac sign with the interviewer: both are Aries.
According to Sedaris, 2026 holds promise for Aries. "You gotta brush up on your astrology," she playfully advised, hinting at the year’s potential for personal growth.
When it comes to holiday preparations, Sedaris adopts a proactive approach. She emphasized the importance of getting things done early to have a little fun at the expense of last-minute shoppers. “Nothing’s more entertaining than watching them panic shop and get nonsense gifts. I’m like, ‘No one wants that!’” she laughed.

Sedaris finds additional amusement at the post office, observing unprepared shippers struggling with their packaging. “They don’t have tape! It’s just stuff crammed into some weird envelope. And I feel so bad for the people that are going to get it,” she remarked. Nevertheless, she credits the postal workers for teaching her effective packing skills.
To show her appreciation, Sedaris often gifts them $25 Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards, a handy gesture she insists is perfect for acknowledging anyone who lends a hand.
In her own entertaining style, the New York native keeps her hosting simple yet effective. A favorite among her pantry staples is Mike’s Philly Fluff Pound Cake, which she highly recommends as a go-to gift this holiday season. “I can’t even believe how good it is,” she said enthusiastically.
Furthermore, Sedaris dedicates some of her time to crafting—an endeavor she supports by selling handmade items at a local shop with proceeds benefitting charity organizations like NYCACC and City Harvest. Though she has authored a book titled Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People, she humorously cautioned that not all crafts are equally desired. “It has to have a purpose, like a potholder, because no one in New York has counter space for a glitter macaroni project,” she quipped.

When preparing for her crafting nights, Sedaris typically cooks a pot of pasta, complemented by her favorite pound cake or dark chocolate-covered pretzels. “Pasta nights get a tipple from Sarah Jessica Parker’s Invivo wine,” she said, praising it as “excellent” and suitable for gift-giving.
Recently, Sedaris also partnered with Amy’s Kitchen, particularly enjoying their frozen enchiladas. “They’re great for someone who lives by themselves, especially guys,” she joked, highlighting their practicality.
Amid her busy schedule, Sedaris finds solace in visiting her brother David’s home for holiday dinners, where his boyfriend takes charge of the food preparations, allowing her to relax.
As 2026 approaches, Sedaris expresses aspirations for abundance in her life. “I’m manifesting everything that comes along with it,” she said, looking forward to what the new year will bring.
As Sedaris gears up for the future, her blend of humor, practicality, and creativity remains a source of inspiration for many.
