American Duo Wins Bronze in Women’s Bobsled Event
MILAN — Kaillie Armbruster Humphries secured her second bronze medal at the Milan-Cortina Games on Saturday, steering her two-woman bobsled to a podium finish at the Cortina Sliding Centre.
Humphries, alongside brakewoman Jasmine Jones, a former USC track star, finished third, trailing two German teams. This achievement marked the United States’ 31st medal of the Games, surpassing Italy by two, while Norway leads with a record 40 medals.
The gold medal was claimed by Laura Nolte and her brakewoman Deborah Levi, the reigning Olympic champions, who finished ahead of compatriots Lisa Buckwitz and Neele Schuten. Humphries and Jones clocked a total time of 3 minutes and 49.21 seconds, which was 0.75 seconds behind the winners and 0.37 seconds ahead of Germany’s third sled, driven by Kim Kaliciki.
Competing in her fifth Winter Games, Humphries previously earned a bronze in the monobob event earlier this month. Saturday’s medal brings her total Olympic bobsled medal count to six, with her first three won while representing Canada.
For Jones, this bronze represented her first Olympic medal. She had previously finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Paris Summer Games in 2024 and was the runner-up in the same event at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
In addition, Kaysha Love and Azaria Hill, former track teammates at Nevada Las Vegas, finished in fifth place. Hill, hailing from Santa Clarita, is the daughter of Olympic medalists Virgil Hill (boxing) and Denean Howard (track).
