Aside from his memorable SNL appearance, Skarsgård has been actively promoting his recent film projects. His latest feature, Pillion, explores complex themes, including a BDSM relationship between a biker and a younger man, played by Harry Melling. Skarsgård’s fashion choices during the promotional circuit have captured attention, including a striking ensemble featuring a backless white halterneck shirt paired with leather trousers at the BFI London Film Festival.
Addressing the film’s candid portrayal of intimacy, Skarsgård expressed a desire to avoid the typical stylized depictions of sex on screen, stating, “I often find sex on screen quite boring. Usually, all the tension is leading up to that moment, and then once people are in the sack.” He emphasized a more authentic approach, noting, “We wanted it to be clumsy and weird…sex can be awkward and funny.”
Saturday Night Live will return on February 28, featuring Connor Storrie as host and Mumford & Sons as the musical guest. Meanwhile, Pillion will officially release in the U.S. by A24 on February 6.
