Adrian Grenier’s Short Film ‘Self Custody’ Set to Premiere, Plus Plans for a Feature Adaptation
EXCLUSIVE: The highly anticipated film Self-Custody, featuring Adrian Grenier from Entourage, has secured a distribution deal with Inaugural Entertainment. This follows a private screening at the Sundance Film Festival and marks one of Grenier’s only two screen appearances in the past four years.
Described as a “Bitcoin action-thriller,” Self-Custody is produced by TBK Productions and Tucci & Company. The film is scheduled to premiere on March 3 across AVOD platforms Tubi and Plex, with a follow-up release on Amazon Prime Video on March 10.
Directed by Garrett Patten, who also stars alongside co-director Fernando Ferro, the film features Odette Annable from House and Olympic gold medalist and UFC fighter Henry Cejudo in his first significant acting role. Patten has previously worked as an executive producer on films such as Bandit and In The Hand Of Dante.
Self-Custody and the upcoming feature You, Always are the only projects Grenier has undertaken in the last four years. There are industry discussions about potentially adapting Self-Custody into a full-length feature with the original cast.

The film’s narrative delves into the consequences of losing a cryptocurrency fortune and the personal stakes surrounding financial sovereignty.
Kevin Weisberg, founder of Inaugural Entertainment, remarked, “The streaming audience has evolved. Viewers want the option of premium storytelling with the pacing and intensity of a feature, but without the traditional runtime commitment. Self Custody delivers exactly that—cinematic scale, real stakes, and cultural relevance. We see enormous upside in this format and are proud to launch it.”
Director Garrett Patten commented, “This story was inspired by a real situation that stayed with me—the idea that in the digital age, one mistake can change your life overnight. At its core, Self Custody is about control and what happens when you lose it.”
