Megan Moroney’s album title perfectly encapsulates her current achievement. After debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with *Cloud 9*, the country singer-songwriter expressed her excitement about the news.
On Monday, March 2, the same day *Billboard* confirmed *Cloud 9* had surpassed J. Cole’s *The Fall-Off* for the top position on the U.S. albums chart, Moroney remarked, “Not to be cliche but I’m on cloud 9!”
“I have to give credit to my fans, they’re the best in the world,” she continued, celebrating the milestone. “To have them embrace an album like this is a dream come true. I can’t wait till we’re screaming these songs together on THE CLOUD 9 TOUR!”
Shortly after the announcement, Moroney took to Instagram to share her gratitude. “CLOUD 9 IS NO. 1!!!?! THANK YOU SO MUCH,” she wrote. “BEST FANS IN THE WORLD THANK YOU FOR STREAMING & LISTENING & CONNECTING & CARING I CANT WAIT TO SCREAM THESE SONGS WITH YOU ON TOUR AHHH :,)))”
*Cloud 9*, featuring collaborations with Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran, was released on February 20, marking Moroney’s third studio album. It follows 2023’s *Lucky* and 2024’s *Am I Okay?*, which reached Nos. 38 and 9 on the Billboard 200, respectively.
With *Cloud 9* dominating the album chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” also rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This marks a historic moment, as both charts are led by female country musicians for the first time. Langley celebrated her achievement by sharing *Billboard*’s article on her single’s second week at No. 1, accompanied by sobbing and mind-blown emojis on her Instagram Story.
Moroney is set to embark on an arena tour in support of *Cloud 9*, beginning in May and continuing through early October. The tour will include stops in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
