Spotify is set to unveil a new feature that far surpasses its traditional year-end Wrapped presentation. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the music streaming service is introducing an experience that spans a user’s entire time on the platform, allowing them to reflect on their listening history.
Announced on May 12, Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s) is available to all account holders, both premium and free. This feature will remind users of the exact date they joined Spotify and provide a total count of the songs they have streamed since their registration.
Additionally, users will be able to see the first song they ever listened to on the platform and their all-time most streamed artist. The feature will also curate an “All-Time Top Songs Playlist,” encompassing the 120 songs they have enjoyed the most over the years.
During a press preview on May 11, Angela Leffell, Spotify’s global brand and program lead, emphasized the personal touch of this experience. “We always wanted this to feel really rooted in our users,” she said. “We’re really here because of them … [there’s] no better gift than a surprise gift.”
Product manager Axel Ulfson highlighted a key distinction between the Party of the Year(s) feature and Wrapped. According to Ulfson, while Wrapped reflects a single year in cultural listening, the new experience unveils the full listening journey from the moment a user joined Spotify.
To access Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s), users can search for “Spotify 20” or “Party of the Year(s)” in the app. This feature will appear automatically, provided the user has at least version 9.1.46 of the mobile application. Alternatively, users can visit spotify.com/20 on their mobile devices to reach the experience directly.
After navigating through the features, users will receive shareable cards highlighting their personal stats, making it easy to share their results on social media or with friends.
