A First Glimpse of Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus in the New Prime Video Series of ‘God of War’
Production has officially commenced on Prime Video’s adaptation of God of War, offering a first glimpse of Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus. The photo showcasing the two characters has been released.
This live-action series, based on the popular PlayStation video game steeped in ancient mythology, is a collaborative effort between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. It has already secured a two-season order.
Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on Outlander and For All Mankind, serves as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer for the series. The narrative follows the bond between father and son, Kratos and Atreus, as they undertake a journey to fulfill the last wishes of Faye, their wife and mother. Throughout their adventures, Kratos aims to teach Atreus the ways of a god, while Atreus strives to guide Kratos toward a more humane perspective.
The cast features notable actors including Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok. Moore is joined by executive producers Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon, with Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis serving as co-executive producers. Frederick E.O. Toye, recognized for his direction on Shōgun and The Boys, will direct the first two episodes.
