During the run of Suits, the family balanced life between Los Angeles and Toronto, adapting to a bi-coastal lifestyle that allowed Oona to experience different schools.
In a 2013 interview, Rafferty reflected on her initial concerns about this arrangement, noting that it ultimately became “an amazing, self-esteem-building experience for her.”
Rafferty emphasizes a transparent relationship with her daughters. In a 2016 interview, she spoke about instilling values of authenticity and open communication in Oona, fostering an environment where she feels safe to discuss any topic.

Despite their lack of familiarity with Suits, Iris expressed discomfort when watching a few episodes at age 11, preferring to see their mother in shows like My Life with the Walter Boys.
