Barry Gibb, the legendary Bee Gees frontman, has emphasized the importance of family throughout his illustrious career. Since marrying Linda Gray in 1970, Gibb has welcomed five children: Stephen, Ashley, Travis, Michael, and Alexandra.
Prior to starting a family, Gibb formed the iconic music group, the Bee Gees, with his brothers Robin and Maurice. The band’s monumental hits include classics such as “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” and “You Should Be Dancing,” which solidified their reputation when they contributed to the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever.
The couple’s first son, Stephen, was born in 1973, followed by Ashley in 1977. Travis arrived in 1981, and Michael joined the family three years later. Their youngest child, Alexandra, was born in 1991.
Throughout their childhood, the family split their time between Miami and London. Gibb noted in a 1989 interview that he often took his children on tour. “I can’t imagine what it is like to be a successful pop star without a family to support you,” he reflected.
In the 1980s, the Bee Gees faced challenges with their record label that led to an eight-year hiatus from album releases. Gibb, however, viewed this period positively, stating, “They were the happiest years of our lives because we were raising our kids. We were writing and producing songs for other people, which didn’t take up 100 percent of our time.”
Currently, Gibb continues to create music as a solo artist, often collaborating with his sons Stephen and Ashley. “They give me that youth,” he remarked in 2016, emphasizing their influence on his work.

“It’s a thrill to look left and see Sami and to look to my right and see my eldest son,” Gibb remarked during the tour. Stephen and his brother Ashley collaborated with their father on the 2016 album In the Now, which Gibb credits for reigniting his passion for music.
Stephen, often referred to as Steve, has been married to Gloria Levas since 2002, and the couple has two children, Angus and Nina.
