Ray J Arrested Following Thanksgiving Argument with Ex-Wife
Ray J was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after an alleged confrontation with his ex-wife, Princess Love, in which he reportedly pointed a gun during a livestreamed argument. The incident occurred on November 27, leading to his arrest by Los Angeles police.
The 44-year-old artist, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., faces charges of making a criminal threat. Authorities responded to a report regarding an assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, as reported by NBC News. Ray J was subsequently taken into custody and later released on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
Footage of the incident, shared by TMZ, depicts Ray J in a heated exchange with Princess Love, 41, concerning the custody of their two children, Melody Love, 7, and Epik Ray, 5. The clip shows Ray J allegedly pulling a firearm while Love, holding one of their children, tells him, “You just pointed a gun at me.” In response, Ray J denies pointing a weapon at her.
The livestream begins with Ray J describing his day, stating he was having "the worst Thanksgiving in the f—king world." The footage reportedly includes him threatening, “If these n—s step foot close to this door I’m going to blow this f—king s—t away, bro.”
Ray J and Princess Love have a history together, having starred on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood from 2014 to 2019. They were married in 2016, but Love filed for divorce—her fourth filing—in 2024.
Recently, Ray J has also made headlines due to a countersuit against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, alleging they intentionally released a sex tape featuring him that contributed to the launch of Kardashian’s career while misleading the public about its release.
