Documentary Offers Insight Into Melania Trump’s Role During 2025 Inauguration
Melania Trump has unveiled the first trailer for her upcoming documentary, Melania, which chronicles the 20 days leading up to her and her husband Donald Trump’s return to the White House. The documentary is set to be released in theaters internationally on January 30, 2026.
The trailer, revealed on December 17, showcases previously unseen moments from the family’s transition back to Washington, offering a glimpse of Melania’s involvement during her husband’s inauguration. Amazon reportedly acquired the film rights for $40 million.
The film specifically follows the events of early January 2025, leading to the second inaugural ceremony of Donald Trump. The documentary depicts Melania’s orchestration of inauguration plans and her navigation through the complexities of returning to the nation’s capital.

The trailer opens on Inauguration Day, featuring Melania in a dark fitted dress and a wide-brimmed hat. As she enters the U.S. Capitol rotunda, she turns to the camera and states, “Here we go again.” In another scene, she observes Donald rehearsing a speech at a podium, where he mentions his legacy as a peacemaker. Melania quickly interjects, reinforcing her husband’s statement by adding, “Peacemaker and unifier.”
The documentary aims to highlight Melania’s critical role during the inauguration and transition period, promising insights into private conversations and significant meetings that have remained hidden from the public eye.

As the trailer progresses, quick cuts display scenes from the inauguration ceremony, the Trump family at Mar-a-Lago, and Melania preparing her inaugural ball gown. In a voiceover, Melania reflects, “Everybody wants to know… so here it is,” encapsulating the curious public’s interest in her role as First Lady.
The trailer concludes with a telephone conversation between Melania and Donald, where she expresses her congratulatory sentiments, stating, “Hi Mr. President, congratulations!” When Donald asks if she watched the ceremony, Melania replies, “I did not, yeah, I will see it on the news.”
In a press release, Melania described the film as “history… in motion.” She expressed enthusiasm for audiences to experience a "private, unfiltered look" into her journey through family, business, and philanthropy while navigating her responsibilities as First Lady.

Melania serves as an executive producer for the documentary, which has garnered attention from industry leaders, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who reportedly took a personal interest in the project to strengthen his ties with the Trump family.
Melania is slated for international release in theaters on January 30, 2026.
