Aiden Ross Shines in Season 28 Finale of The Voice
In a captivating performance that resonated with viewers, Aiden Ross closed Part 1 of The Voice Season 28 finale on Monday, December 15, with ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All.” His heartfelt rendition stood out as one of the evening’s most discussed moments, setting the stage for the upcoming live results show.
The episode featured the Top 6 finalists, each presenting two songs—one contemporary and one classic—as they vied for viewer votes to determine the season’s champion, which will be unveiled in the finale on December 16.
Ross, representing Team Niall, took the stage last to deliver the ABBA classic, focusing on the song’s emotional depth. Coach Niall Horan praised Ross’s performance, expressing his pride and urging viewers to cast their votes after an “absolutely incredible” showing.
Earlier in the night, Ross opened his finals set with JVKE’s “Golden Hour,” earning enthusiastic feedback from Horan, who remarked on the singer’s ability to connect with the heart of each song. This capped a strong night for Team Niall, which also saw DEK of Hearts advance through viewer voting.
Each coach entered the finale with one artist chosen from the Playoffs: Ralph Edwards for Snoop Dogg, Aubrey Nicole for Reba McEntire, Ross for Horan, and Jazz McKenzie for Michael Bublé. Additionally, Max Chambers from Team Bublé and DEK of Hearts from Team Niall secured their spots through viewer votes revealed during the episode.
Highlights from the night included Aubrey Nicole’s confident performance of Cody Johnson’s “’Til You Can’t,” followed by a crowd-pleasing rendition of “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” a song famously recorded by McEntire.
Jazz McKenzie evoked strong emotional responses from both Snoop Dogg and Bublé with performances of Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License.” Meanwhile, Max Chambers showcased his vocal range with Forrest Frank’s “Your Way’s Better” and Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time.”
Ralph Edwards closed out the night with energizing performances of Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is” and Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” receiving accolades from Snoop Dogg for his growth as a performer.
With voting now closed, the winner of The Voice Season 28 will be revealed during Part 2 of the finale, airing on Tuesday, December 16, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, preceded by a preshow at 8 p.m. ET. Regardless of who takes home the title, Monday’s performances suggest that the music industry will welcome six new stars.
