Late-Night Hosts Come Together for Special Video Episode Celebrating the ‘Late Show’ Finale
Late-Night Hosts Reunite for Special Episode of ‘Strike Force Five’
In a noteworthy collaboration, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver are set to reunite for a special video episode of their podcast Strike Force Five. The announcement was made during a joint appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Colbert and Kimmel shared the news on Instagram, stating, “Emergency @strikeforcefive episode loading! ⚡”
The new episode is scheduled for release on May 13, coinciding with The Late Show‘s upcoming series finale on May 21.
Strike Force Five originated in 2023 amid the dual Hollywood strikes, quickly becoming popular among audiences. The podcast features the five late-night hosts discussing their experiences during a time of uncertainty. Like earlier installments, the proceeds from this episode will benefit World Central Kitchen, an international nonprofit dedicated to providing meals during humanitarian crises.
When the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike commenced in May 2023, the hosts began weekly Zoom meetings to address the challenges posed by the work stoppage, resulting in a series of candid and humorous discussions.
Listeners will be able to stream the new episode on platforms such as Spotify, its YouTube channel, and various podcast services.
This reunion follows last week’s announcement that Kimmel, Fallon, Meyers, and Oliver would join Colbert for a special segment. Additionally, late-night legend David Letterman, a predecessor of Colbert, is expected to appear on The Late Show episode airing Thursday.
In a show of camaraderie, Kimmel also announced that he will air a repeat episode on May 21, stating he is going dark “out of deference to Colbert’s sendoff.”
