Jason Isaacs Welcomes Lox Pratt as the New Draco Malfoy in a Harry Potter Crossover
Stars from the highly anticipated new Harry Potter series made a notable appearance at the BAFTA TV Awards, creating a special moment for fans of J.K. Rowling’s iconic wizarding world.
Ahead of the ceremony in London, Jason Isaacs, known for his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, greeted Lox Pratt, who portrays Draco Malfoy in the upcoming HBO series, taking over the role from Tom Felton.
In the new series, Johnny Flynn will portray Isaacs’ character, Lucius Malfoy. Last year, Isaacs took to X/Twitter to commend his successor.
“A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too. Couldn’t have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better,” Isaacs expressed.

Later that evening, Paapa Essiedu, set to portray Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series, and Nick Frost, cast as Rubeus Hagrid, presented the Supporting Actress award to Adolescence star Christine Tremarco. The duo shared a light-hearted moment while introducing the nominees.
Essiedu humorously decided to consistently refer to Frost as “Hagrid” throughout their introduction.
“Some truly exceptional performances, let’s take a look at the nominees Hagrid,” he remarked, turning toward Frost. To which Frost replied, “My name is Nick; I sat next to you at the friggin’ readthrough.”
