Billie Eilish Welcomes New Fans with ‘Survivor’ Boomerang Idol: A Heartfelt Surprise
A longtime fan of reality competition shows, Billie Eilish has garnered a new wave of admiration since her involvement with the CBS series *Survivor*. As a 10-time Grammy winner, Eilish recently expressed her enthusiasm for the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol, which made its debut in *Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans* this February.
In her interview with *Entertainment Tonight*, Eilish shared her excitement, stating, “First of all, it’s so amazing because I’m such a big *Survivor* fan. And the other thing that’s been pretty surprising and also incredible is the amount of people who have never complimented me on one thing in my life, are like, ‘I love you on *Survivor*, Bill. I love you on *Survivor*!’”
Eilish’s concept for the Boomerang Idol was introduced by contestant Genevieve during the first episode. Eilish explained via a letter that the idol must be given to a member of another tribe. If the recipient is eliminated while holding the idol, it “boomerangs” back to the previous holder.

Jeff Probst, who has hosted *Survivor* since its inception in 2000, provided insight into the collaboration. He told *People*, “We sent her a couple of ideas, and she decided which one she liked; she said, ‘I like the Boomerang.’ Then, we kind of wrote out the clue, and she approved that as well.”
Probst further remarked on the collaboration, stating, “It was really fun to collaborate with her. She was enthusiastic about it.” He also extended an invitation for Eilish to compete on a future season, noting, “Well, I saw a little interview with Billie where she said, ‘I think I might want to play,’ and I’m just saying, the invitation is there. It seems unlikely. It’s a long commitment, but Billie’s always welcome.”
As *Survivor* celebrates its 50th season, new episodes air on Wednesdays at 8 PM ET/PT on CBS, with the finale scheduled for May 20.
