Netflix’s One Piece Anime Remake Announces Release Month and Shares Exciting Key Art
One Piece, Netflix’s adaptation of the iconic anime and manga series, is slated to premiere in February 2027, as announced by the streaming service on Tuesday. Key art for the series has been released, showcasing a glimpse of the animated world.
Produced by Wit Studio, this adaptation will cover the original manga starting from Chapter One of the East Blue saga.
The recently unveiled concept art depicts a scene set in Windmill Village, where the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, spent his formative years. The image illustrates Luffy at the lively Partys Bar, enjoying the company of Shanks, the captain of the Red-Hair Pirates, and his first mate, Benn Beckman, alongside the bar’s owner, Makino. Rendered with a warm aesthetic, this moment captures Shanks’ admiration for Luffy’s exuberance and hints at the unexpected kindness of the Red-Hair Pirates, despite their fearsome reputation, according to Netflix’s description. This scene symbolizes the beginning of Luffy’s grand adventure.
Season 1 is expected to encompass approximately the first 50 chapters of the original manga, consist of seven episodes, and have a combined runtime of around 300 minutes, culminating in Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous chef of the floating restaurant Baratie.
All seven episodes will be released simultaneously, with the specific release date still to be determined.
The original manga is authored by Eiichiro Oda and published in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha. The series is directed by Masashi Koizuka, with Hideaki Abe serving as assistant director. Taku Kishimoto handles series composition, while Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda are responsible for character design and chief animation direction.
Previously reported details indicate that Season 3 of One Piece, titled One Piece: The Battle Of Alabasta, is also set to debut in 2027.
