Amnesia, Murder, and a Producer’s Journey in a Real-Life Crime Story: A Look at The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle on Investigation Discovery
Investigation Discovery to Premiere New True-Crime Series: The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle
Investigation Discovery is set to unveil a compelling two-part documentary titled The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle. Slated for May 25 and 26, the series will air from 9 PM to 11 PM ET.
Developed by Hot Snakes Media, the same team behind The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, the new series delves into the story of a man suffering from an unusual form of amnesia. As the production team embarks on a mission to help him rediscover his identity, they encounter a tangled web of deceit, uncovering three unsolved cold cases and facing serious threats to their safety.
The saga began in August 2004 when a naked and injured man was discovered behind a Burger King in rural Georgia. This discovery triggered a multifaceted investigation, prompting Shannon and Eric Evangelista, founders of Hot Snakes Media, to assist in piecing together his forgotten past. They are also known for their work on TLC’s Breaking Amish.
As the investigation unfolds, the producers encounter unsettling truths that highlight inconsistencies in the man’s story, suggesting a potential link to a notorious crime family in the Midwest. The quest for truth, however, comes at a significant cost; the team is met with escalating threats, putting one of their members in jeopardy.
A particularly chilling moment occurs when the man, standing alongside Shannon Evangelista atop a hill in Colorado, remarks, “If anyone wants to get rid of a body this would be a good place to shove one off, it’d be years before they found it.”
With its gripping narrative and real-life implications, The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of identity and the darker side of truth-seeking.
