Corvette Driver Crashes into Tree and Pole, Ending Pursuit in Torrance
Driver Injured in Torrance After High-Speed Chase Ends with Corvette Crash
A high-speed pursuit that began in Orange County concluded in Torrance on Thursday night, resulting in an injured driver and a wrecked yellow Corvette.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the chase began on the eastbound 91 Freeway and continued westward, reaching the Cerritos area around 8 p.m. before moving into the South Bay region.
Video footage captured the driver attempting to evade authorities by veering onto the sidewalk, ultimately crashing into a tree and a pole. The driver sustained injuries during the incident and surrendered to police at the intersection of Hawthorne and Sepulveda boulevards.
While the specific circumstances that initiated the chase remain unclear, reports indicate that at one point, the Corvette was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
