Jimmy and Weesa from Psychic Fever Share Insights on the Band’s Growth and Talents Learned Abroad
PSYCHIC FEVER Expands Global Reach with Anticipated New Album
In 2026, the Japanese group PSYCHIC FEVER continued to broaden its international impact, embarking on new challenges at a global level. The group, which debuted its North American tour in 2025 and performed at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas, is set to release a new album this July in response to the enthusiastic reception it has received.
While in London for a fan meeting in July 2025, members JIMMY and WEESA shared their experiences with Billboard JAPAN. They discussed the profound impact of their international fanbase, particularly during their first performance in London. JIMMY noted, “The reason we were able to come to London is that a lot of overseas listeners got to hear ‘Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY’ thanks to social media.” He expressed excitement at seeing fans not only singing along to that song but also to their more recent tracks.
WEESA added, “The first time we came to Europe, you could feel this powerful energy coming off the fans. They were dancing and singing to our songs even more energetically than we were.” The members spoke about how the audience’s responses differ by region, with WEESA commenting that particular songs resonate differently depending on the country.
“For instance, in America, the audience really gets into ‘Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY,’ while in London and the rest of Europe, ‘Highlights,’ performed by us and REN, went viral prior to ‘Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY,’” JIMMY revealed. This suggests shifting musical trends that have shaped the band’s live performances.
Reflecting on their time living in Thailand after their debut, JIMMY shared, “While things didn’t go exactly as we’d hoped, one great thing was that we were able to use that experience as a starting point to perform in all kinds of overseas locations.” He expressed gratitude for serving as a gateway for fans to discover both older and newer groups within the LDH family.
As they continue to grow as artists, they have also focused on songwriting. WEESA noted that they created their upcoming album, DIFFERENT, collaboratively, stating, “JIMMY and I wrote lyrics for the first time, and we all talked about what to do from the very start.” JIMMY emphasized their desire to create music that resonates with fans globally, mentioning how their experiences abroad have strengthened their collective identity.
The title DIFFERENT reflects the unique identities of the seven members, with WEESA explaining, “We named the album DIFFERENT to share the message that being different is a good thing.” This resonates particularly well with the multicultural backdrop of London, where the album is set to be released.
As they look ahead, JIMMY expressed a desire to perform at larger venues, stating, “My main goal is to perform for a lot of people.” Their journey seems to be just beginning, with tours slated in Japan and abroad.
The members also shared their culinary experiences in London. JIMMY mentioned a fondness for fish and chips, while WEESA appreciated the local meat. JIMMY commented on his admiration for London’s fashion scene, highlighting its similarity to Japan in valuing cultural roots.
As PSYCHIC FEVER prepares for its next chapter, their evolving journey continues to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving fans eager for their upcoming album.
