Los Angeles Magazine Celebrates the 90s at GiGi’s Palm Springs
Over 100 Guests Celebrate 90s Music at GiGi’s Palm Springs
On April 18, more than 100 attendees gathered at GiGi’s Palm Springs for a nostalgic evening dubbed the "90s Takeover," hosted by Los Angeles magazine. The event kicked off with MTV icon Dan Cortese, who set the tone for the night by spinning popular tracks from the 1990s, encouraging guests to dance and sing along.
The live music was provided by Rob Lewis and his Orchestra, who delivered beloved hits from the decade, including Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack” and Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.” Stan Randolph contributed his talents on the drums, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere with his rhythmic beats.
Adding an enriched musical experience, the string section from Wondersmith Entertainment, led by Juliette Jones, played an important role. Violinists Crystal Brooke Alforque and Nikki Garcia, violist Laurann Angel Woods, and cellist Michelle Elliott Rearick harmonized beautifully with the orchestra, captivating the audience with their performance.
As the night unfolded, vocalists Dejah Gomez, Emi Secrest, Sam Pounds, and Camille Trust took to the stage, delivering soulful renditions of iconic 90s songs that transported attendees back to the era’s musical heyday.
GiGi’s Palm Springs provided a fitting backdrop for enjoying both the live music and a diverse menu of delightful food and beverages. The evening was sponsored by Conagra Brands, known for its strong support of music and the arts, which eagerly embraced the opportunity to bring live music to the Palm Springs community.
