A contestant in the Miss Grand Thailand beauty pageant recently turned an unexpected mishap into a memorable moment during the live broadcast on March 25. Kamolwan Chanago, 18, became the focus of attention when her false teeth unexpectedly dislodged while she was delivering her speech during the preliminary round in Bangkok.
As her dental piece slipped onto her tongue, Chanago quickly regained her composure, adjusted her teeth, and continued her performance while showcasing a sparkling evening gown complemented by a fur shawl.
The incident sparked significant reactions on social media. Commenters expressed their admiration for her poise, with one user remarking, “Handle it like a champ 👏.” Another added, “It’s funny but she handled it like the queen she is.” A third noted, “Let this be a lesson to all young girls: no matter what you face, stand tall and own it.”
Attendees at the event were also surprised but praised Chanago’s ability to remain unfazed. A spectator noted, “She handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day. Is this the most iconic pageant moment ever?” according to the Associated Press.
In addressing the incident, a spokesperson for Miss Grand International stated, “During her onstage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident in which her veneer teeth became dislodged.” The spokesperson commended her professionalism, asserting, “She handled the situation with professionalism and composure, and the event continued smoothly without disruption. We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition.”
Looking ahead, the coronation ceremony is set for March 28 at the MGI Hall. The winner will go on to represent Thailand at the Miss Grand International 2026 pageant in India this October.
