Stephen Lang, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Piper Curda Team Up with Nava Mau in the Funny Thriller ‘The Dregs’
Stephen Lang Joins Cast of New Film The Dregs
Stephen Lang, known for his role in the Avatar franchise, has signed on to star in The Dregs, a comedic thriller set in Tuscany. The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Emmy-nominated Nava Mau, Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Shohreh Aghdashloo, Piper Curda, Maddie Phillips, Max Lloyd-Jones, and Charlie Gillespie.
Having recently completed production, The Dregs follows a group of friends whose trip to the Italian Alps takes a dark turn after they consume a cursed bottle of Grappa. Lang plays the film’s antagonist, a resentful Alpine waiter with a family recipe for Grappa steeped in alchemy and witchcraft. Details about the other characters remain confidential.
Additional cast members include David Goren, Desiree Staples, Evan Bittencourt, Kheon Clarke, Fletcher Donovan, Quinnie Vu, and Mike Stern, who developed the project and is producing through Astral Plane. He is joined by Yasir Anwar, Marco Allegri, Tinker, and Connor Martin, who is making his directorial debut with a script he authored.
The film also stars Benjamin Norris, Marta Pozzan, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, and Zach Tinker, who served as executive producers alongside Martin Metz, Jacory Gums, Maurice Antonio, Andrew Etzel, Roland Hoch, Elizabeth Mozilo, Joel Michaely, and Desiree Staples. Co-producers include Pozzan and Jeremy O’Keefe, while the associate producers list features Gillespie, Bittencourt, Ron Rogell, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Casting was managed by O’Keefe and Tina Marie McCulloch.
