In a monumental announcement, iconic ’90s hip-hop and R&B groups Salt-N-Pepa and TLC are set to embark on their first coheadlining tour, dubbed the It’s Iconic Tour. The announcement was made on Monday, March 23, and will feature special guests En Vogue.
The tour promises to showcase the best of three influential girl groups, bringing fans a memorable experience with hit songs like “Shoop,” “No Scrubs,” and “Free Your Mind.”
Cheryl “Salt” James expressed her excitement about the tour in a Live Nation Q&A, stating, “The show is going to be crazy. We’re doing the whole mixtape type of vibe, like, the coming in and out. It’s just gonna be ‘Blam! Blam! Blam! Blam! Blam!’”
Cindy Herron from En Vogue added, “[It’s] just really a feast for the audience. This has never been done.”
This announcement comes just days before the groups are scheduled to perform together for the first time at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26.
The It’s Iconic Tour kicks off on Saturday, August 15, at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee, and is set to conclude on Sunday, October 11, at the Toyota Pavilion in Concord, California.
Terry Ellis of En Vogue remarked, “Having all of us come together, it’s a cultural olympian. And just being able to work with these ladies — they represent resilience, empowerment, and to be a part of that? They’re legends.”
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas from TLC chimed in, “You’re legends,” to which James responded, “We’re all legends!”
Presales for the It’s Iconic Tour will begin on Tuesday, March 24, for Citi and American Express holders, with general sales starting on Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. local time.
