Tate McRae Dazzles in Custom Gown at Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Tate McRae turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 15 in Los Angeles, where she wore a stunning custom gown designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The floor-length dress, crafted from dark red silk chiffon and satin, featured an eye-catching center cutout and intricate draping that elegantly cascaded to the floor.
According to the designer, the gown was handmade and took an impressive 150 hours to complete at the Parisian atelier.

The “Sports Car” singer complemented her striking ensemble with a voluminous, wavy blowout styled by Joey George, who emphasized the sultry nature of the look. “As soon as Ludovic sent us a preview of the dress, the whole team immediately screamed BOMBSHELL,” George told Allure. “This felt very early 2000s, super sexy, and very Tate McRae.”
Her makeup, crafted by artist Kali Kennedy, featured a “doe-eyed glam” aesthetic, with soft eye makeup, rosy cheeks, and a blush-toned lip. McRae’s understated nude manicure and sparkling diamond earrings completed her sophisticated appearance.

This appearance marks a significant evolution in the 22-year-old singer’s fashion journey. In past interviews, McRae has shared how her style has progressed from a more “sporty vibe” to a refined aesthetic. “Before, I don’t think I’d focused on fashion that much in my creative vision,” she said in an interview with Vogue. “It’s always been more about the dance or the singing… I think just as you get older, your taste changes.”

Now, McRae enjoys experimenting with her fashion choices more than ever. “Earlier in my career, I could be a little stubborn in what I wore or how I looked,” she explained. “But now I just get excited to go onto music video sets and play dress-up and try on my favorite shoes and dresses and be able to step into a new character.”
