Emma Stone Wows in a Silver Beaded Dress at the 2026 Oscars Red Carpet
Emma Stone captured attention as she graced the red carpet at the 2026 Oscars on Sunday, March 15. The 37-year-old actress wore a stunning silver beaded floor-length gown designed by Louis Vuitton, complemented by a sleek bob hairstyle. According to E!, the intricate dress required an impressive 600 hours of craftsmanship.
Stone attended the event with her husband, Dave McCary, who looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. The couple, who married in 2020, welcomed their daughter, Louise Jean, the following year.
This year, Stone is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Bugonia. With this nomination, she has made history as the youngest actress to receive seven Oscar nominations at the age of 37. Additionally, she is recognized for her role as a producer on Bugonia, which is also nominated for Best Picture.
In Bugonia, Stone plays the character of Michelle Fuller, a pharmaceutical CEO who falls victim to conspiracy theorists who believe she is an alien set on destroying Earth. These conspirators forcefully shave her head to prevent her from contacting her “mothership.”
Prior to filming, Stone ensured her daughter was well-prepared for her dramatic transformation. “I wanted Louise Jean to be very ready to see me bald, so it wouldn’t be super-scary,” Stone shared.
In an interview with USA Today in 2025, she described the experience as a significant transformation. “I just said, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I’m going to take my hair off, and it’s going to grow back. Isn’t that so silly and fun?'” She recalled that her daughter responded positively, saying, “OK,” and was totally cool with her decision.
Filming the scene required meticulous preparation, with director Yorgos Lanthimos ensuring everything went smoothly. He had four cameras ready to capture the moment, fully recognizing the importance of perfect execution. Stone recalled, “There was a moment where I had slight cold feet. I was sitting there building anticipation, and I had a little last-minute freak. Then Yorgos came over, and I was like, ‘I’m going to be fine. It’s going to be great.’ And I absolutely loved it.”
As her head was being shaved, Stone entered a meditative state, focusing on staying still. “If I opened my eyes or flinched, it would really mess things up,” she noted.
