Co-Producers of ‘Sentimental Value’ to Receive Eurimages International Co-Production Award
Maren Ade, Jonas Dornbach, and Janine Jackowski to Receive Eurimages International Co-Production Award
Maren Ade, Jonas Dornbach, and Janine Jackowski, co-heads of Germany’s Komplizen Film, will be honored with the Eurimages International Co-Production Award at the European Film Awards scheduled for January 17, 2026, in Berlin.
This prestigious award, presented by the European Film Academy in collaboration with Eurimages, recognizes the significant role that co-productions play in enhancing international cultural exchange.
Komplizen Film has produced or co-produced approximately 20 films supported by Eurimages, including notable titles such as The Whistlers by Corneliu Porumboiu, The Story of My Wife by Ildikó Enyedi, About Dry Grasses by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and Corsage by Marie Kreutzer. More recently, the company contributed to the films Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier and Yes by Nadav Lapid.
Based in Berlin, Komplizen Film is recognized as a co-founding member of The Creatives, a federation of ten independent production companies operating internationally.
Maren Ade began her production studies at HFF Munich in 1998, later focusing on film direction. She co-founded Komplizen Film with Janine Jackowski in 1999, producing her graduation film The Forest for the Trees in 2003. Ade’s third feature, Toni Erdmann, premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, receiving four European Film Awards among various other accolades and achieving international distribution in over 100 countries.
Jonas Dornbach, who grew up in Perugia, Italy, founded his production company Kinoherz before joining Komplizen Film in 2010. He graduated from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin in 2006 and has since produced numerous acclaimed films. He is actively involved in the film industry as Vice President of the ACE Producers Network and as a member of several prestigious film academies, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Janine Jackowski, also an alumna of HFF Munich, has built a successful career spanning over 25 years, producing more than 60 films and series, many recognized at international festivals. Like her colleagues, she is a member of multiple film academies and associations, underscoring her influence in the industry.
Ade, Dornbach, and Jackowski will be in attendance at the gala for the 38th European Film Awards, where they will receive their award in person.
